What was the last promotion tactic you tried for your forum or blog that failed to work?

Why did it fail to work?

I remembered a DM promotion that flopped badly. I sent messages thinking I was being smart, but people just ignored, some of them even blocked me. I think people hate forcing marketing on them. So, if it doesn’t feel natural, it won’t land at all.
