have a dedicated "junk drawer" that I occasionally try to organize, but it always returns to its natural state of chaos within a week. It’s a tiny ecosystem of expired coupons, mysterious screws, and dead batteries..
 
Funny enough it is still you that gets it messy. You just have to start being organized. When you get things out try to rearrange them before leaving
