Paying influencers

Have you ever paid an influencer to promote your forum or blog?

Do you think something like this works? Why or why not?

No, I haven't paid an influencer to help promote a forum or blog for me and it's not because it won't work but because their services are very expensive.

I'd rather pay for Facebook ads and do the promotion myself depending on the budget I have for it.

Promoting your forum with influencers would most likely not work. The audience that socially media influencers have are not adapted to forum culture. It would be a waste of money to pay influencers to promote a traditional forum.

I am racking my head to see how paying an influencer can help a forum grow. I think it is possible if you can find an influencer whose sphere is in direct relationship with the niche and sub niche of your forum.

I have worked with Twitter influencer in past to market my blog and books. I managed to get good traffic and also book sales. I haven't done it for forums.

I've collaborated with influencers, but I was doing it as an influencer with my own social media.

I've tried paying influencers once and honestly it was nothing worth it. There was plenty likes, but zero real users. If the influencer doesn’t actually care about your niche, the traffic is dead on arrival.

Hiring an influencer to promote a forum
or blog is a wonderful idea, especially if that influencer can really relate to your niche. They can effortlessly attract an audience. However, it can be costly. This is why I have never worked with an influencer before.
