Social Media Influencer Collaborations

How do you all feel about using social media influencers to get members to your forum?

In most cases, the collaboration between you and an influencer would be paid. Sometimes the cost is quite a bit. I've been paid $1,500 to collaborate with a company once using my social media following.

It's not always that much though and you might be able to offer something else aside from having to pay for it.

Have any of you attempted this? If you were able to do it, how did it do?

You would not get real people that would stay in the forum if you use an influencer to promote your forum. I don't think promoting a forum with with social media influencer is worth it.

I'm not sure if I can agree with that.

I've done collaboration with my social media with other blogs and such as we've successfully exchanged traffic. I gained loyal followers as did they.

Maybe you need to focus on a different collaborator audience.
