Is there anything that annoys your staff team members on your forum?

If so, what are your staff annoyances and do you try to do anything about them?

I can remember when I was working as a staff on Bizdustry. Alex was very sluggish in carrying out decisions which have been discussed and agreed by all the team managers in our staff chat and he gets annoyed when you try to remind him to do things he neglected. It was the main reason I fell out with him.

People either care about the forum or they don't. If they don't, why do they stay in it?!

Now, that's a very good question which seriously needs to be answered because when something isn't of any interest to someone, they should be moving on from it but most times, they don't.

Is it that they don't truly know what they want or..?

I would try to work with staff on their annoyances as long as it was right for the community and not a power-trip thing.

It's a very good human management skill because it helps you to understand how things should be and how something can be put right in order to make running of the project smoothly.

That is true.

Running a forum can teach you a lot about management in general. :)

Facts! It's why I sometimes use the term community instead of forum because it's basically running a community of people but in an online space.

A community to me is so much more than a forum. A forum is a platform like XenForo or vBulletin. The community is a group of people in a developed network or family-like relationship.

Indeed! 🫡

I've developed strong relationships with people I would never dreamt of simply because we were opportune to cross paths in online community.

But in order for a community to be a community, you have to include everyone. If moderators and staff positions are filled on your forum, then they're a part of the community as well.

So, it's important to understand their needs and concerns on what they like and don't like because they too make the community a community.

We can't ignore staff over members. We can't ignore members over staff. We have to find that middle that works for everyone.
