Do any of you treat your forum like a business?

Listen, even if you don't want to or plan to monetize, having a business-minded look to your forum can be extremely beneficial.

Every topic YOU make is a product so that can motivate you to make the best content.

Every member is a customer. Every member reply is a purchase of your product. Get it?

Do you think this strategy can help you take your forum more serious enough to make it more successful?

Or is it a waste of time? If so, why?

What’s helped me is setting small weekly goals and tracking progress. I also keep a spreadsheet of monthly traffic and activity so I know what’s working and what’s not.
It's good to be organized.

Small goals are easily achievable, and you can line them up to work on achieving bigger goals over time.

Great strategy @Yakodem :)

I started using a cloud auto dialer to follow up with inactive members and past advertisers. It saved me a ton of time and actually brought some folks back who thought the forum had died out. I have it set up to send voice messages during specific hours, so it doesn't feel spammy. Way better than cold emails, and easier to track who listens or responds.
This looks good to be very honest. Although, it's a little bit costly at $29 per user/month for the basic plan but it's a very good strategy you've deviced which would be more effective than emails because a lot of people ignore their mail.

Btw, there's a reason why I use Mailchimp. It's a very popular email marketing platform and its built-in open tracking and analytics helps me to know who opened their mails and when they did.

I've been using Mail Chimp for years. My 3K+ subscriber list uses that. I pay around $75 a month for it.

I was introduced to Mail Chimp in 2019 when I worked for on advertising agency because that's what we worked with. Since then, I've been a big fan of their service.

Kit is another good one. It's designed primarily for creators, whereas MC is geared more towards businesses.

Beehiiv is one I keep hearing about, but I think it's more like a SaaS platform. Not sure if you have access to your contact list. That is a must for me, otherwise the service is rented space and you can lose it at any time!
