What’s your favorite way to reward active members?

I am mannitic using the "Like" button, It's a way to let them know I read their post. I do use some badges and special titles, but what I use most
is tipping their post --it really makes a big difference, even if the tip is as small as $0.01. What I notice is that it's not the amount what makes the difference, it's the action of giving real-world tangible benefits. It has worked really well on my forum, users tend to post meaningful posts most of the time without supervision.

We all know keeping folks engaged is a never-ending challenge, so how do you say “thanks” to your community’s MVPs? Do you go for badges, special titles, exclusive access, or maybe real-world rewards? Or is it something simpler, like public shoutouts or fun contests?
I like the idea of creating a "VIP" area for both those who choose to pay for it and those who're super active and really contributing and who simply have earned it.

I do think it's important to give paid accounts something unique, though.
