I think it’s okay in moderation, but not when it’s being overused and abused. Apparently, it’s not a new thing either. Cheating the system and manipulating the system is a easy way to kill your traffic in the long run. It may work for a bit, but it won’t work forever.

Cloudflare’s web analytics is a nice alternative to Google analytics. I was using it for a while, but I don’t use it currently. It shows you a lot more data than Google Anayltics. There’s also Ahrefs’s new Analytics script as well.

It’s the act of different generations tbh. We grew up with forums. This new generation is growing up with social media all in their face. So, the decline isn’t necessarily on us and it isn’t going to get worse. It’ll get better as long as we continue to do our best.

I have a few topics with more than 5 pages of topics. These are shows and music topics along with “what’s your favorite game” threads. I usually keep the discussions going as often as possible.

I use my forum a lot on my mobile phone. I generally do all activities through my mobile phone. I can navigate the admin panel and everything else quite easy on my phone.

There’s no need for security positions. They’re basically moderators. I can see this position being needed on a larger scale platform like Facebook or Reddit, but that’s about it.

I don’t think this is a good approach on a niche forum, you should keep your main niche areas the focus of your forum instead of adding more off topic sections. However, I think it would be a good idea to add prefixes to the off topic forum itself instead of adding more forums.

No, I don’t look into my staff members. My staff member and I have been working together for the past 10 years, so I’m already familiar with what he does for a living, and he knows what I do as well. We’re also connected on social media, so I already know his real name.
