    Account Deletion Demand

I agree THAT would be a good core feature since policies online impact everyone.

No Links Allowed on Big Boards

In all honesty, I really LOVE your point, You're right! Signatures are very hard to moderate versus actual post content which is usually a click of a button. It wouldn't take much to edit a signature and just spam that crap out of the whole forum or whatever. When it's a big board with a lot...

    Allowing some profanity?

I normally censor that word by default just in case it's used against someone. Your example of "their service was ****" to me wouldn't be that big of a deal but when it's used against someone like "you're a **** head" then it becomes a phrase of abuse. That is what I'm going for when I censor...

    Scheduled Downtime

Howdy all, My hosting service will be doing some server upgrades mainly in the BIOS area. The maintenance process will begin Tuesday, October 14th at 12:00 AM (midnight) PT and will run until 4:00 AM PT. There will likely be downtime periods. In case you notice downtime, this is likely going...

How profitable is domain reselling business?

I bet that makes you cringe a little!

Spammers are getting smarter (or at least trying)

I have a forum all about hiking. To mitigate spam, I approve all new member requests. Had this one in my Que today. If it wasn't for the email (gave it away as a spammer), I might have considered this a legit member based on the username since. My guess is that's it's AI spam scraping the...

No Links Allowed on Big Boards

Credits is an older form of gamification that still works very well!

    Moderators must post

In most cases, forum staff is expected to be volunteer. I mean that is how it has always been traditionally. But if I was making enough money on a forum to profit (after bills), I'd consider paying staff members.

    Allowing some profanity?

I think Elon wanted X so people can act the way they do on there without worry. It's like those old trolling forums from the past. No rules unless it harms him.

    Nice profit margin :)

    Comment Exchanges

Akismet is good, but they want you to pay for it if you're anything more than a simple personal blogger.

No Links Allowed on Big Boards

I could be all for credit systems where you pay for signature links through credits you earn by posting. That might be applicable to gamify that feature.

Treating your forum like a business

It's good to be organized. Small goals are easily achievable, and you can line them up to work on achieving bigger goals over time. Great strategy @Yakodem :)

Profit Building a blog to sell it

I feel the same way and most of my blogs are very personal to me and the brand is me so selling them would mean selling me. I'll never sign a non-compete so I'll never get bigger profits because of that. I'd rather monetize the blog than sell it.

    People not joining forums

@Tracy I like your custom post idea with the none part on it. Might have to steal that idea :D

    Member Activity Incentives

It's also trying to find that fine line where it benefits both the participant winner and the forum. I think AI can come in handy for brainstorming things like that.

    Moderators must post

Yeah. I won't pay anyone unless I truly like and trust them :)

    Staff Annoyances

I would try to work with staff on their annoyances as long as it was right for the community and not a power-trip thing.
